Manfred Borer was born in Switzerland, graduated as carpenter and started his career in 1994 as owner-manager of a construction company in his home region. He graduated later as a Business Process Manager with an Engineering Degree from the University of Applied Sciences, majoring Plant Management. Since 2005, Manfred worked as software developer, project manager and country director Indonesia for Swisscontact, the Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation.
2013-2015 Manfred was chairing the Sustainable Cocoa Partnership CSP and from 2013-2017 leading the Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture PISAgro cocoa working group. He is also a respected member of the consultative board to the world cocoa economy at the ICCO in London.
In 2017, Manfred founded Koltiva AG in Switzerland and is currently the Chief Executive Director of PT Koltiva, based in Indonesia. Koltiva AG is an integrated agriculture technology company that provides tailor-made software solutions and services for end-to-end business processes.
